are csi's homicide investigors are forensic scientists? do that just work on dead people or do they help pursuit criminals.

Crime Scene Investigators - they will do whatever is necessary to help solve a crime.

this is Crime Scene Investigators. they are kind of like FBI. they will do the dead body stuff but they will also catch criminals and all that. you should watch like a episode of CSI the show. its a good show if your more mature and you understand the stuff and all.

both. they do autopsies to reveal how the person died and research the crime scene where it occurred

Forensic scientists.

They examine scenes, collect and examine evidence, things like this.  Work involving the body is left to coroner although they will examine any evidence collected by the coroner. The actual tracking of the criminal and arrest is left to the police.
