  4. I'M A STORM CHASER AND FORECASTER IN MISSOURI AND TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THERE IS ALOT OF DIFFERENT TERMS THAT CAN B USED WITH TORNADOES, BUT A CYCLONE IS JUST ANOTHER TERM FOR TORNADO. THERE IS SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF TORNADOES, LIKE DUST DEVIL, WATER SPOUT, WEDGE TORNADO, SIDEWINDER, ETC.

SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, A TORNADO AND A CYCLONE IS BOTH THE SAME THING.

  5. n meteorology, a cyclone is an area of low atmospheric pressure characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere of the Earth. [1][2] The generic term covers a wide variety of meteorological phenomena. These include tropical cyclones, and extratropical cyclones, so meteorologists rarely use "cyclone" without additional qualification.

tornado is defined by the Glossary of Meteorology as "a violently rotating column of air, in contact with the ground, either pendant from a cumuliform cloud or underneath a cumuliform cloud, and often (but not always) visible as a funnel cloud..."[6] In practice, for a vortex to be classified as a tornado, it must be in contact with both the ground and the cloud base. Scientists have not yet created a complete definition of the word; for example, there is disagreement as to whether separate touchdowns of the same funnel constitute separate tornadoes
