I can't seem to find any. All the BBC like to do is make you narrow minded, you know what British media is like

Al Jazeera is biased, but gives you some extra info that the BBC would kill not to give.

FoxNews I've never watched, because I don't have that channel yet. It's American but they talk about Obama all the time as I heard.

So what is a good news channel I can watch? One that will give a lot of info, which currently writes off Channel4 news and ITV news.

  1. I like CNN. Glenn Beck is on Headline News.  I don't think Fox News is fair and balanced. I want to hear the news, not the news and their personal opinion or innuendos.

  2. Some of the answers on here are laughable. Fox??? Murdoch's mouthpiece is just right wing propaganda! I find the Beeb to be a better channel after midnight, cos then it doesn't have to appeal to a large audience.

Your best bet is to view lots of different sources that way you can get a more balanced view.

  3. Fox is a good channel, it really is fair and balanced news coverage.

  4. Public television...PBS.org

  5. reuters, don't know if they have a television channel though.

  6. Fox News Channel is the closest you'll get to on TV. There's better choices online, such as http://www.drudgereport.com , and http://www.worldnetdaily.com

  7. No, Fox News is Pretty good. It fair & Balanced

When you get that channel, check out Bill O'reilly. He's not as abd as you may have heard

  8. PBS

  9. The contributor - crack larson (see above) has got it totally worng.

I checked out 'Drudge Report' and it is totally baised and in favour of the American government, completely and utterly.

Personally I stick with internet sources for all of my information and all the mainstreem media is 'owned' by governments. George Bush recently gave 1.3 BILLION to keep the American media pushing what HE wants them to hear and read!

I feel the same as you, and believe that there are NO unbaised news channels anymore. There possibly never were.

    Peace.

  10. Regrettably it appears you actually live in the UK, where the best TV news is made, but for some unknown reason do not recognise unbaised news when you see it or hear it.

The news service everyone in the world listens to when they want to hear total unbiased news "truth" is the BBC World Service News.  It is a radio programme broadcast by the BBC World Service to the rest of the World.  It has been broadcasting for the best part of 75 years.  During most of the conflicts of the 20th century all parties would listen to the World Service to hear the true about the other side.

This is their website and you can listen to it free will a wide selection of programmes.  Try it.

As regards the USA, I have lived here for about 5 years and they have no unbiased news.  They have no public TV that you could compare to the BBC, it is all cable, which is owned by various concerns that essentially promote they agenda.

Fox News, ABC and NBC (all about the same) are about as bad as it gets and as biased as you could image.  Astonishing most american's cannot or do not understand bias in news programmes, which I suppose is because they have become used to megaphone politics (or shouting someone down who you disagree with).  Of course if you politics is to the right then they are the news service for you but definately not unbiased.

CNN is reasonably good but you have to sit through some rubbish to get to the interesting and essential news.  Basically American TV is commercial - meaning biased by definition - which means that they are funded by advertisers and owned by right-wing organisations (support republican politics).  They have a view and an agenda, which is what you get - no doubt about it.

Reuters is a quality news service which gathers news and then gives it to anyone who will pay, both TV, radio and print.  It is independent, good and reasonably unbiased but unfortunately they do not broadcast a service.  However, their reports often appear on radio and TV around the world.  They have reports fluent in every language around the world.

Al Jazeera is almost comical in its biased views.  The difference between them and total fiction at times is indiscernable to the naked eye or ear.  Of course if you agree with their political view point I doubt if the biased reported would worry you.

I have a feeling what I have said to you will come as a shock and you will probably reject it out of hand but you need think about it.  Try to define exactly what you find biased about the BBC news.  Of course the TV news is different to the World Service main because it is talking to everyone not to a British audience.  They report in their news the facts and make comments based on facts not opinion or sweeping assertions or generalisms and take no sides!
