I have 2 22's and neither have a scope, and if I could put one on for 50 bucks or so I thought that would be fun.

  1. i use a red dot sight ( no magnification)on mine . the biggest i would go is a 4 by 32

  2. You're wise to do so, since the telescopic sight is the most accurate type. For your price I'd recommend a TASCO brand scope; It's the brand I have on my ruger 22 and it's a lot of bang per buck.

  3. If your on a budget get a cheap scope........ A nice scope can set you back $100 on up.... But then again it depends on what type of shooting you will be doing... Target? a little plinking? maybe a couple of varmints??......  The .22LR isn't a long range bullet so its not necessary to have a super fantastic scope..... Barska, Tasco, BSA and others make $39.95 scope that will do the job..... If you have a little more money consider the Nikon ProStaff 4x32 RimFire Classic Rifle scope --- about $110...

I would try to avoid a 3-9X40 power scope unless the price is right.... Sure its fine to 100 yards but the scope will actualy be able to see fartther than the capabilities of the rifle..... If you find a 3-9X40 thats priced right then surely buy it but realize it can see farther than the rifle can shoot accurately........

  4. On a 22 I like 4x fixed scopes... 100 yards is a long target shot with a .22. Simmons and some other brands are out there that wont break the bank.

Opinion.. why would you want to scope such a handy little rifle like a 10/22? Those little guns are the bomb for off-hand snap shooting.
