  1. i drive an 18-wheeler and have a dedicated account.  Dedicated accounts means you will usually haul a certain companies product, and just that companies product.  It doesnt necessarily mean traveling the same road day after day, in fact it really doesn't mean that.  Take the big company ford for example...Truck drivers that would be "dedicated" to ford would mean they haul freight either going to Ford locations, going from Ford locations, or even going from a Ford location to another Ford location.

  2. A dedicated run is when you have a specific load from usually one shipper to usually one receiver that is on a specific schedule.  Like daily, or weekly... and that's all you do.  It is a regular route.  Doing the same thing every trip.

While it may get boring doing the same run over and over, it does allow for better time management as you typically know when you're leaving, how long you'll be gone, and when you'll be back/done.  It can be much easier to plan your off duty time, but there isn't much flexibility in it.  You are committed to the dedicated run for the length of the 'contract'.

  3. It is when you run from point A to point B and nowhere else.

    A dedicated route actually.
