  1. PIANO MAKES REAL SOUNDS A KEYBOARD DOESN'T

  2. A keyboard is electric, a piano has strings. That makes it feel different to play, like you have to press harder on a real piano.

  3. The sound is completely different because of the design. A keyboard is more portable and thus the sound quality will not be as good as a piano which tends to stay in one place. keyboards are electronic and piano's work through ivory keys, strings, vibrations. You can vary the tension on a piano but a keyboard gives you the same note and is not as subtle.

  4. There are many obvious differences, but in my opinion the most critical one is that a piano has weighted keys and a keyboard does not. If you want to be a serious player, learn on a piano or electric piano that has the weighted keys. You may play all the notes on a keyboard,  but won't develop the touch in your fingers.
