  1.   The greatest difficulty is that they must make assumptions and if they are wrong what they interpret as seeing would also be wrong.

  2. having to observe through the atmosphere is one of the biggest and is stilla  problem and assumably will always be... as long as the majority of telescopes are on earth's surface it will be a problem.

the atmosphere distorts our view... like on a hot day the heat rising up off the ground distorts the road ahead of you...

  3. Having to observe through the earth's atmosphere.

  4. The Earth's atmosphere distorting the light coming from other stars in the Universe, that's why we have telescopes like the Hubble Space Telescope(HST) in orbit!

  5. Finding black holes!  Wanna know why?  'Cause they're "invisible".  The only way an astronomer can know if there's a black hole somewhere in the sky is to observe the movement of stars.

  6. um, like, cant see far enough? cant travel fast enough?

  7. Dust particles block observation in the visible light frequencies, and the X ray and infra red and radio options don't produce such crisp and clear pictures
