  1. eat at table

  2. It varies so much by family, and background, because we are so mixed with such ann international history.

My family has a group dinner at about 5 or 5:30, because my husband has to eat earlier than most, so he can go to bed early to keep up with his early work schedule.  We gather around the table and sit, quietly, and talk over some of our day.

Some families eat as late as 8:00 typically, and many people will eat as late as 9 or 10:00 for a more formal dinner.

  3. there is no US style.

  4. What are U.S. people?  Mexican Americans?  Italian Americans?  Polish immigrants?  Irish immigrants?  Indians (from Asia)?  Colombians?  Puerto Ricans?  Chinese Americans?  Some Americans are strict vegetarians, some follow a meat and 2 veg diet.  Our family cooks all sorts of things from scratch every night (usually West Indian or Japanese style though).  Those who cook usually do most of it on the weekends and cook extra to freeze for later (because of the working culture in America, where you don't usually have time to cook if you work).  Some people eat alot of fast food.  And homegrown "American" food in Louisiana is very different to that in New Mexico or Wisconsin or Maine....

That's a bit like asking what is the dining style of European people.

When you eat at a restaurant, you have to tip the servers at least 15% of your total bill.  That's about the only standard thing I can think of!

  5. Eating a lot of junk food and drinking DietCoke;-))

  6. Burger and Fries at a diner....well at least thats how it is in the south
