What is a driver for webcams?

not a car driver, a computer driver.

  1. When you plug any device into a computer, the computer  needs to know how to process the signal.  The driver is the instructions needed by the computer to process that signal.  Your web cam should have come with an installation CD that contains the drivers needed.  If you don't have the CD, then go to the manufacturer's web site and download it from there.


  2. its a software or program that you get with the cam a cd probably. and you install it in order to install the webcam
