Also, what does the following info mean? 20 x DVD+R or DVD-R, 8 x DVD+R or DVD-R DL,6 x DVD+ or - RW, 48x32x CD-R/RW? I do understand the +R and -R, DVD+ or - RW, what do the numbers mean? Now there are 52x. Is 48x32x the biggest reader? I am looking to purchase a DVD to DVD recorder within the same unit. I want to spend around $200.00 - $300.00 for a recorder. Please help me with suggestions. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

  1. A standalone unit that supports DVD Duplication also high speed CD Duplication

Write speed is the rate at which data can be written to an optical disc - a CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW. Write speed is specified in multiples of X, with the definition of X depending on whether it's a CD or DVD drive. A CD-RW or DVD-RW drive generally has two write speeds, the first being the CD-R or DVD-R writing speed and the second being the CD-RW or DVD-RW writing speed. The final X value refers to the read speed. So a combined CD-RW and DVD-RW drive described as "16x6x16x DVD-RW / 48x32x48x CD-RW" would have the following speeds:

    DVD-R write speed 16X

    DVD-RW write speed 6X

    DVD read speed 16X

    CD-R write speed 48X

    CD-RW write speed 32X

    CD read speed 48X
