a dwell box is a tool used to dial the engines ignition timing.it is prmarily used on points type ignitions and the dwell is the length of time the points are open.this dictates the amount of time the capacitor has to drain to the coil increasing or decreasing the spark duration..

Never heard of dwell box. But a dwell angle on a bike i think is the angle where the valves sit in the head of the engine, weather the engine means box not sure

The dwell box is probably where Wally says. I can tell you about the dwell position though. This is the position of the valves in your engine  for some machine to occur,ie, opening and closing.At and near the ideal dwell position, the mechanical advantage in terms of OUTPUT torque to INPUT torque is extremely large. So basicaly if your valve gaps arent set up correctly, you will lose power. Hoped this helped. Knobinobike.  [ after "some machine" read "function] ,sorry about that.
