What is a easy way to make my computer run faster?

I have norton, people say it slows it down so how do i make it faster? even when i turn my computer on it takes awhile before i can do anything like i guess it would be the start up menu

What should i do?

As far as Norton slowing down your computer, I haven't found that to be true in my experience.  McAfee on the other hand is horrible.

First I would start with regular maintenance like virus scans, installing updates & patches, and defragmenting the hard drive.  Make sure your hard drive has plenty of free space.  I would also remove crapware, which is all the extra software your PC manufacturer installs in the factory.  Much of it is useless and just consumes valuable resources.  If you have Windows XP and less than 512MB of RAM then I would consider adding some.  Just a few ideas to get you started!

more ram is a start then the basic's clean get rid of stuff u dont nead or use from add an remove programs run disk clean up an then defrag,also go into my computure then right click on c-drive propetys then tools then,click on both scedual a disk erorr fix then hit yes then reboot but then dont touch noithing until all 5 are done running if this dont help try this an run the free one from microsoft,but u will need to disable pop ups for the test an cleaner heres the link hope it helps good luck l8r-4-now a friend in christ jerry/c-m-a member (christian motorcycles asso)
