  1. Fact finding interviews are generally tied to investigations.  In this type of interview facts are simply gathered for a future determination.  As Vice-President of our teachers association, I've had to sit in on fact-finding interviews conducted by attorneys with a court reporter taking down every word, but most are much less formal in nature.

    Advice I often give to those who are targets of this type of interview is to simply answer the question asked of you and don't feel the need to elaborate.  If there are further questions that the interviewers have they will ask follow-ups.
