I've decided to take on some small jobs now that my son is a year old I found a girl to watch him here and there and I want to pay her fairly but I don't want to pay her too much cause it wouldn't be worth it for me to even work.

  1. ummm i dont know where these other people get there baby sitters but I pay my babysitter $8.00 - $10.00 an hour depending on the time of day night time they are getting the child ready for bed ext...you need to talk eith your sitter and also evaluate what happens during that time frame your requesting the sitter. Think about how much you do a day they will be doing it as well in your absence. There should be a gauge set between you and your caregiver for the circumstances

  2. WOW

i'm looking at what everyone pays

    i'll babysit your kids

    lol

i babysit my friends 17 month baby

for about 53 hours to 56 hours a week

and only get paid $50 a week

i know its a little put she gets paid 7.50 an hour

yea and he uses diapers and he cries for everything

and he hits my 16 month baby a lot

i know it sucks for me

i also think it depends where you live

  3. I have been babysitting for the past six years and where he is in diapers I would say three to four dollars and hour. Once he is out of diapers I would say 2.50. Hope this helps :)

  4. 5 bucks per hour max

  5. $7 an hour.

  6. Like any job, you will get what you pay for so keep that in mind.  I babysat for about six years through high school and college, making anywhere from six to twenty dollars per hour.  It depended on the location, timing (occasions like New Year's Eve required some big bucks to get me to stay in for the night) and the number of children.  You will also want to take into consideration the girl's experience, as you could probably pay her less if she has less experience.

On the other hand, if you are willing to pay a couple dollars more per hour (i.e. pay seven dollars instead of five), you could include some light housekeeping duties in her responsibility, such as dishes, laundry and picking up toys/general straightening.  I don't know if that would be worth it to you though, as you said that, understandably, you don't want to pay so much money that it isn't worth it to work.

Anyway, I hope this helps.  There is a lot to consider, but the bottom line is I think you would be doing yourself and your baby a disservice to pay less than five dollars per hour.

  7. i would say about 5 an hour

  8. i would say $5-$6/hr becasue if your child is in diapers or if he/she needs to change him. or maybe a little less

  9. usually around 4 to 5 dollars an hour. Then if there were two kids I would make is about 6 to 7 dollars. You could always ask how much she would like to be paid too and see if its in your "budget"

  10. Depending on what you make per hour, I would pay her $8 an hour because she is caring for an infant, and he will take a lot more work than...say, a 7 year old would. But in the end, charge whatever BOTH of you think is fair.
