  1. If you feel your domain is worth say more than a couple hundred dollars I would get a professional appraisal.

Sedo.com has a service for between $29 - $49 ... but there are many others out there.

You can also get a rough idea by using a service such as estibot.com which provides an automated valuation.

Another idea is to ask domainers what they think...you could post on a popular forum such as NamePros.com

  2. In the Andrew book of definitions, a fair price is A) the highes pricest a buyer is willing to pay, B) the lowest price a seller is willing to charge, and C) everything in between.

In your case, I would consider how obscure the domain name is, how many potential buyers there may be, and the resources of those buyers.  For example, if the buyer is likely the candy store on the corner, you may not get more than a couple of hundred dollars.  If the buyer is Nestle Inc., you could fetch tens of thousands of dollars.

When selling anything, you should always start by asking top dollar.  You can always come down from your first price, but never up.

You do have my curiosity piqued.  Would you e-mail me and tell me what this domain is.  andrewg7890@yahoo.com

  3. It depends on the domain name, really. I often see them sell for 2k-5k, you could sell it within this range without seeming unreasonable.
