  1. Hate to burst your bubble, but most jobs have a predetermined salary range, and companies are not going to vary much from it. The salary range might be $40,000 to $44,000 with $45,000 being the absolute top dollar they'll pay.

I don't know what the salary range is for the job you're applying for, because in spite of being fluent in two languages, you didn't tell us what the job is.

Because you are going into a new industry, you'll probably have to start at a lower salary as an entry-level employee.

Employers don't pay a bonus for your experience, degrees or language skill. Those may be minimum requirements of the job, but once they decide to hire you, salary is based on what that position is worth to the company, and how much they would have to pay someone else to do the job...not how much money you should make because you are special. Making demands is not going to change that.

BTW, not to be mean, but why does your s*x matter? You seem to be implying that as a male you should be paid more than a female with the same qualifications. That would be illegal, in the US.

  2. Hi, salaries are based on the region you work in and are not the same in every city.  For example a job in san jose, california will pay more than similar job in another state or even city.  google it, look on websites for what your expected job may pay in the area you want to work in.  i think yahoo jobs has this feature and so does monster. if you have a finance background should be easy to find salaries.
