What is a false floor?

I am looking into turning the space beneath our sunroom into a shed. We were getting ready to level the ground with dirt (is slopes considerably), but my neighbor suggested that we shouldn't bother leveling out the ground, but rather just install a false floor. I have lots of plywood to work with, but don't know what to do with it!

  1. you need to build a wooden frame first to fix your ply onto first lay a sheet of plastic to stop weeds and grass get from b&q or simular timber should be treated or tanalised as its sometimes called 3x2 or above its all according how strong you want it make frame then level the one end to lose the slope use blocks or timber legs its what you prefer then lay your ply it must be treated if its not marine ply good luck with your project

  2. a sleeper floor. you would essentially build a treated lumber deck close to the ground, sitting on blocks or using sunken posts where grade is higher than the block.

    Hope that helps.
