What is a fasfa award?

i know this is a stupid question but i just got a check in the mail for my fasfa award.. what excatly is that? is that money mine... you am i suppose to use it for my next semester?

fafsa is what pays for your classes and books etc and if their is any left over they mail it too you at the end of the quarter yes this is your money and no you dont need it for next semester at the end of each semester you will get a check but remember to apply once yearly for fafsa
