  1. A fault is a term in tennis for a serve that lands outside the service box or hits the nets and lands outside the service box. When this occurs on two consecutive serves, it is called a double fault and the server's opponent wins a point.

you win a game by being the first to get to game point which is the fourth point won.

the ads occur when both people get to 40 (the third poinit won), because you have to win by 2 in a game.  Ad in is when the server is ahead 1 game point after 40 and Ad out is when the receiver is ahead by 1 game point.  FOR EXAMPLE.. both players are at 40, the server gets a point, the next serve is ad in, then the receiver gets a point the scored is 40 all again, then the receiver gets another point, they are one up and it is ad out.  It goes on until one player makes 2 points.

  2. 1) a fault is when serving, the ball doesn't fall in the opposite service box

    2) you win a game by scoring enough points, technically 4

but you have to win by 2 points

which is where the ad in and ad out come

they mean advantage in or out

now, scores are always said from the servers point of view

so ad(vantage) in, means that the server has won 1 of 2 points needed to take the game

ad(vantage) out, means that the returner has won 1 of 2 points needed to take that game

but those are only used when the game is tied at 40-40

and you need extra points to win by 2

  3. A fault is when the server fails to get his serve into the service box on the receiver's side. If you serve two faults in any given point, you lose the point.

An ad point is the point after a deuce point, or 40/40.

If the server wins the deuce point, the next point is an ad in point. If the server loses the deuce point, the next point is an ad out point. Ad stands for advantage. If you have the advantage point, and you win the next point, you win the game. If you lose the point, you go back to deuce.

  4. In tennis, a fault is where on the person's serve he does not get the ball over the net. If this happens twice in a row then its called a double fault, and he/she loses the point. The ad in and ad out stand for advantage server or advantage receiver, respectively, and occur in a deuce which is the score standing at 40-40. To win at deuce you need to score with an ad. So at the least twice in a row. If you want to know more specific things just pm me, because there is a lot more in depth I could still go.
