what is the meaning of this "franking" here? It is in the scope of taxation law.

  1. not fobbing you off, but you need to go to ato website and search there. it is a big topic. basically franking is to stop double taxation at company level and at shareholder level. a credit is attached to dividends equal to the tax paid by the company on that dividend. debits can come about for a number of reasons though.


  2. A franking debit arises in a company's franking account if an amount (the transferred amount) to which this Division applies is transferred to the company's share capital account. The debit arises immediately before the end of the franking period in which the transfer of the amount occurs.
