I'm a dad and work from home with my wife.  However, we have our own home based business, which is not free to start a business up.  If your looking for a "free way" to make money at home, then I suggest you look up "telecommuting" positions.  You can google it.  Most home based jobs only pay minimum wage, which isn't a whole lot of money, but that's basically what you will get for basic home jobs.  They work pretty much the same way as a traditional job, the only difference is your work environment is your home environment.

There are a lot of "legal" ways to make money working at home that is free.  What is your work experience?  What are some things you can do?  I am not sure what your qualifications are, you can take a look at this article and check into a couple of companies that have telecommuting positions.  You can also google it as well.
