What is a fun, inexpensive, public golf course in the Los Angeles area?

It would be nice to find a place that has available tee times without making one several days in advance.

  1. Sorry dude, if it is inexpensive it probably is in a not-too good neighborhood.

  3. Rancho Park, Los Verdes, Encino & Balboa. If you want to spend a little more for a great test of golf try the Ike or Babe course at Industry Hills

  6. I'd like to suggest that you look at Golf.com's golf course finder (see link below). You see, what's inexpensive to  you might be expensive to me. Also, LA's a big area, so I might pick a course too far from you.

    I've taken the liberty to include a sample search for you (second link, below). I did a search of publilic and semi-private courses within 50 miles of LA.
