There are so many fun ways to make money - especially in the summer.  Here are some of my favorites:

1.  Mommy's Helper - This is a great way to make some money and begin building up a list of references for your future babysitting business.  Offer to help moms of young kids during the day while she's home so she can clean, sleep, work or whatever.   You keep the kids happy and entertained and the mom has some time to get needed chores done without kids underfoot.

2.  Birthday assistant - When parents throw large birthday parties it's nearly impossible to keep track of all those kids and keep them happy.  You can come in as a birthday party assistant to help facilitate the games, crafts and activities or just help in the kitchen to get the lunch, cake, etc ready. Or you can do a specialty service for birthday parties like face painting or story telling.

3.  Dog walking - this is especially helpful for the elderly people in your neighborhood who have dogs who desperately need to be walked but the folks just can't do it anymore.

4.  Do a twist on the traditional lemonade stand - set up shop at the garage sales in your area for guaranteed traffic!
