  1. A functional team is a team that respects their coach.

  2. Each AFL team has 6 lines of 3 players and 4 interchange , a total of 22players .    The coach sets team rules and strategies,a  functional team is one that is disciplined to totally, follow those rules & strategies, to WIN games  they play against similar opposition teams. !

  3. sounds like a mechanical term - a team that works like a machine.  Leaves no room for individual brilliance IMO but I'm sure it would function as it should.

  4. One that has a good captain and vice captain,

One where each player knows the role thay have to perform,

and one where they all work together to get a win

    TEAMWORK

  5. a team that works well together in a game situation

  6. A team that doesn't contain drug addicts... (j/k!)

Teamwork is the key to a functional team.  Great Captain that the team members respect and a coach that is admired by the club.

  7. A functional team would take from the Kangaroo's, Heart, from the Pies, Administration,

from Melbourne and Geelong you would take history,

From Carlton the early draft picks,

Port Adelaide, Adelaide, WCE and Freo the rivalries,

Essendon coaching longevity (obviously before they got rid of Kev)

From Richmond the passion of their fans when winning,

From Hawthorn and the Bulldogs the will to survive the mergers forced onto them,

    Brisbane's weather,

    Sydney's anonymity,

    and St Kilda's Robert Harvey.

  8. A team that has a good boot studder
