Gerbils life span is 2-4 years depending on diet, enviroment and activity. The average is 3 years However to make sure these survive longer make sure you feed it a wide range of nutrients and plenty of water offered always make sure it is fresh daily.

The enviroment should be large so they have room to move around freely and have plenty of places to go during day and night.

And also try and get a exercise ball, i had one of these and it kept alll my gerils alive for 4 years and one even for 6 years. So just bare in mind these three factors and you will be sorted.
