What is a gift that my younger cousin would like?

She's nine years old, and she's very girly, a gymnast, and she likes to play dress up and stuff.

I haven't seen her in months, and I can't really think of what to get. Should I just let her pick something out?

  1. How about you take her on a special shopping trip, just the two of you.  (If you are not old enough to drive, have a parent drop you off).  Tell her you have $50 to spend and you would like to spend it on her.  Have her pick out a new leotard for gymnastics.  Or hair bands.  Perhaps she can even find a cute outfit for school that she likes.  Or a movie or documentary on gymnastics.  She has the whole mall to choose from and a whole $50 to spend.  That's a lot for a nine year old.

If she doesn't live in the same town as you, perhaps you can ask her mother what store she likes best.  Then see if you can get a gift card from that place and mail it to her.  Or, ask her mother if she can get the gift card and hand it to her in your name and you will pay her back?  Letting her pick her gift is always great as how can she go wrong?  Good luck!
