  1. AVG Free is an excellent free program

  2. BitDefender 10 Free Edition

  3. ok dear,

I suggest to use avast4.8 home edition for free www.avast.com and use also windows defender together with it in your PC. But make sure you dont have any antivirus program in your computer because it may crash your PC. Having 2 antivirus program in your computer is very critical.  avast 4.8 and windows defender, together in your PC is great, no more worries...  And 1 more piece of advice, whenever there is a message that your antivirus detect any virus/spyware/adware dont ignore it. Just remove it or try searchin' it on the net what kind of virus is that thing so you will be familiar on it.

Let me give you a tip choosing a good antivirus for your PC because i know you really do care for your pc =)

Hope it will serve you best... goodluck....

  4. AVG free edition and NOD32 are two best free antivirus programs.

Besides, Antivir Workstation and Avast are also good and free.

  5. Although AVG is very popular and very good, I like Avast. Both are free.

  6. avast! Anti-Virus Home Edition is available right on their site at http://avast.com/. Go to downloads and avast! Home Edition. It protects against Viruses, Spyware, Email Spam, Trojans, and Rootkit. It is the best for free.

  7. AVG Free is the most widely used free Anti-Virus. I've been using it for years and it doesn't slow your computer down.

  8. A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

    http://www.free.grisoft.com

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

Also, for protecting your personal info and files, use Ad-Aware 2008 Free Edition:

    http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_fr...

All of them are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.

    Hope that helps.
