Question:

What is a good, lag-free HDTV for Wii and PS3?

My question is mostly for hardcore gamers. I want a 32" t.v. to hook up the Wii and PS3 in the bedroom. It is extremely important that there is no lag whatsoever in 480p (I'm not so concerned with the PS3 lagging). I play the Wii a LOT, and my games of choice are Super Smash Bros., Guitar Hero, and other games that simply won't work right with any lag. One I have been eying is the Samsung LN32A450. Price is a factor, and 1080p is completely unnecessary. Any help would be great. Thanks!

  1. All HDTVs have significant video lag unless they have a gaming mode. The Samsung LN-32A450 does not have a gaming mode & will be a disappointment due to its video lag when using this TV with your Wii console. Instead, consider the Panasonic TC-32LX85 (720p) or Toshiba 32CV510U (720p). The Sony KDL-32XBR6 and Sharp LC-32GP1U are probably out of your price range, but both of these TVs also support gaming modes in the 32" TV size class.

  2. I don't have a PS3, but my sharp aquos has never had any issues with lag and games for Wii or Xbox 360.  It is 42" 720p and looks fine (1080p just isn't worth the large price increase - 720p is really getting affordable these days).
