Does it matter if you cook it in oil or better?

I believe my mom used to put just one or two types of seasonings

But i'm not sure

Please tell me how you do it :)

  1. FRIED POTATOES

    3-4 potatoes

    1/4 cup oil, approximately

    1 onion, chopped

    2 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, unsliced (sliced, canned mushrooms can be substituted, if need be)

    1/4 cup hulled sunflower seeds

    salt and pepper

Heat oil, add potatoes that have been washed and thinly sliced. Cook for 10-15 minutes, then add mushrooms, onions, garlic, and sunflower seeds. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook until done, uncover and brown.

  2. We do whats called Oven fried potatoes, its healthier but still tastes darn good.

Potatoes cut in to 1/2 in thick wedges

    olive oil

    seasoning of choice

Cookie pan lined with parchment paper"bakers paper" or Tin foil

In a large bowl add 1/2 olive oil and seasoning of choice, Add your potatoes and mix with fingers or spatula to coat all evenly. Place all potatoes on baking sheet"do not dump on or they will steam". Give about 1/4 in of space between each potato for crisping. Add a bit more seasoning if you desire and Bake at 450 for 20 minutes, flip each wedge to the other side and reseason again and finish baking for an aditional 15 -20 mins or til golden brown and Fork tender when pierced.

Let cool and serve with your favorite dipping sauce or dinner.

    Our favorite is

Roasted red pepper and roasted garlic Aioli" mayo based"

    Ingredients

    1 egg yolk

    1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    2 tablespoons lemon juice

    1 cup olive oil

1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, minced  or take a whole bulb, cut off the top drizzle olive oil on top and season with a bit of salt and pepper, wrap in tin foil and bake at 350 for 45 mins. The garlic will get sweeter not bitter unless burned.

1 red bell pepper roasted and blackened skin removed chopped fine dice.

    Directions

1Add the egg yolk, mustard, salt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor.

2With the processor running, slowly add the olive oil.

3Add the garlic and peppers and pulse a few times.

4Use immediately or refrigerate.  Will keep for 2 days and no longer.

  3. There are allot of ways but I slice them up and put a little non stick spray in the skillet then add the sliced potato's and add diced onion and some diced green or red bell peppers if you like and some garlic powder and pepper when they are almost done add some margarine or butter and a little salt and parsley flakes. YUMMY some times you an add diced ham and sprinkle grated cheese on the top when they are done.

  4. Basic fried potatoes are sliced then cooked in oil in a large frypan- you have to start with a lot because they cook down so much. The less you turn them the better they stay together so try not to stir a lot.  My mom always just used salt and pepper, but i like to use season salt, because my husband is not a pepper fan.  You can add this toward the end though because it kind of gets lost when the potatoes sweat out.

  5. You would want to use oil, in order to fry anything you need oil to be very hot, under that heat butter would burn.  You can season it with litterally anything you want.  I make mine in the oven, healthier and I'm always worried that a pot of oil over an open flame will start a fire.  I cut them up to the shape I want, boil them for about 10 minutes, dry them off coat with a little, curry powder, season salt and sugar and bake on 375 for 8 minutes on each side, easy, good and healthier then fried.  Good luck

  6. Okay, this is not really fried but more like baked but the recipe is quite tasty!!  Take Red Bliss potatoes and dice them up.  Put them in a zip lock bag with olive oil (I tend to use a lot of oil cuz I like it that way).  Throw in some italian seasonings and because I like oregano I throw in a little bit more of oregano and also some garlic powder or crushed garlic.  Shake the bag to mix all the ingredients.  Empty them out on a cookie sheet.  Bake it on 400 for about 20-25 minutes or just until they get a golden brown.  Similar to fried but not quite.  Come-on, take a chance!!!  LOL

  7. you put the potato in a frying pan and fry it.... vualla you have fried a potato

  8. I have sometimes peeled and pre cooked the potatoes in the microwave to hurry along the frying process, rather than raw fried.

I use canola or salad oil, some diced onion, salt and pepper.
