What is a good 1 mile swim (front crawl) time?

well, id guess anything under 20 minutes is a very decent time.

When i used to swim competitively when i was younger my friends used to do the 1500m race which is just short of a mile (1mile=approx 1600m). They used to do it in like 18-19 minutes, when we were like 15 years old.

I went no where near that i was an all out sprinter, never raced more than 200m i hate distance, far too big and heavy! hahaha!

anyways, yeah about 20 mins id say.
