LCD Tv is good for gaming with a fast refresh rate.

For gaming choose an LCD rather than a plasma.  On many games there are areas of the picture that do not change over a period of time.  At other times the opening page for the game might be inadvertently left on the screen.  On a plasma display this can result in burn in where you will see what is sometimes called a ghost image from the game.   LCD's are not prone to this problem.  Screen size would depend on how far you will be from the TV.  A set in the 32 to 42 inch range is best for most game setups.  As for brand: Sony has the best picture,  Panasonic, Sharp and  RCA are close behind.  Do not opt for the "store brand" or "brand X".  These are usually less expensive but have a poorer picture and little or no service back up.
