What is a good 21st present?

It for someone a male friend i went to school with. I don't really know what they would like.

Wow, the suggestions above are extreme! You don't need to spend that much to get a nice gift for someone, especially as it doesn't sound like the two of you are all that close.

You could get him a voucher to his favourite shop (clothing, music, games, etc), which will be easy for you and he can get exactly what he wants. If you do this, it would be cool to get a bunch of people to put in so that he has a decent amount of money to spend on something.

You could get him movie tickets, maybe one for you and him or him and someone else. This is another great idea because he gets some control over what he does and he can tailor it to suit him. You could even pay for his food and drink if you wanted to be really nice, give him an entire night out for free!!!

If you are a good cook, make him a bunch of really delicious treats! A way to a guys heart is through his stomache so ask around, find out what he loves and then provide.

If he is really into something (a band, cars, etc) you could get him a few posters to suit his tastes. Everyone loves posters, so this is an easy choice, and you can get them for relatively cheap.

If you know him a bit better and he loves a particular magazine, get him a subscription. It is the gift that keeps on giving, who wouldn't love it.

Another food idea, get him a really cool kitchen appliance, like a coffee/hot chocolate maker, a donut maker, an icecream maker, a popcorn maker, anything you think he would like.

If he is into this kind of thing, a few pieces of really nice jewellery would be a great idea. Maybe a ring, an arm band, a necklace, whatever suits his style. Or if this isn't his thing, a couple of cool t-shirts are always appreciated.

And last but not least, you could get together with a group of people and throw him a party, where you guys pay! He is sure to love this idea, especially if he is a social person, or if not so much, then just get a small group of you, go out somewhere special and pay for him.
