There are more than 200 winter/holiday activites of games, crafts, art, fun, recipes, etc., etc.

    CANDY CANE REINDEER...

2 brown pipe cleaners, candy cane, two 6 mm google eyes, 1/4" pom pom, glue, scissors

This has been around awhile--but great fun for the first-timers!

Cut one long pipe cleaner in fourths. Twist the other long pipe cleaner around the top of the cane to make 2 large antlers. Wrap 2 pieces of the cut pipe cleaner pieces --around each antler to make the "branches" on the antler. Glue the eyes to each side of the cane "hook. Glue the pom pom at the end of the cane for the nose. You have a reindeer!

    .

HOLIDAY WINTER SCENTS......You need: Construction paper or tagboard , glue, paintbrush, different seasonal spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, allspice - whatever smells good! Make a template of a bell and candy-cane shape for the child to trace-and then cut out. for the very young, the shape could be pre-cut!

Trace the bell on tag board or construction paper. Child then paints it and puts  glue over the bell or candy cane...Spices are then sprinkled on the glue.

Pipe Cleaner and Pony Bead Ornaments

String pipe cleaners through multi-colored beads, then mold the pipe cleaners into various shapes, such as Candy Canes, Bells, Christmas trees, stars, etc. Tie yarn or ribon for added decoration...

This is not a bell or cane but easy for two to four year olds...

    WINTER TREES

Glue plain white rice on a drawn tree with branches for snow...

    ..

Young children really like this one!

    REINDEER FOOD!

For each small baby food jar, you'll need: 1/4 cup dry oatmeal,  1/8 cup granulated sugar,  1-2 tablespoons colored sugar. (The traditional recipes call for glitter, but unless you purchase the pricey edible glitter from specialty shops, it WON'T BE SAFE FOR BIRDS AND SQUIRELLS. Substituting colored sugar will still give a sparkly appearance, without being harmful to the actual animals who will end up eating it.

For a jar, layer half of the oatmeal, followed by half of the colored sugar, the white granulated sugar, the rest of the colored sugar, and top with the rest of the oatmeal. For a zip-bag..., combine ingredients in a mixing bowl and scoop into zippered plastic bags....

With the sugar instead of the glitter ...it's OK for the kids to munch on.

Sprinkle it on the lawn, driveway, or apartment patio to entice the reindeer and give them something to munch on while Santa delivers his goodies.
