  1. A good workout for martial arts would start out as a good workout for almost any sport...boxing, track, football, basteball.  You want to get in a good amount of stretching of course.  But the difference would be stretch specific areas a little more intently than just to get your muscles loose.  For example, you may want to concentrate on your splits and hamstring stretches for kicking exercises and drills.  Your joints need a good stretch and some losening up before taking impacts during sparring or heavy bag work.  Stuff like that.  Work on basic endurance and strength exercises like running, bleachers, lunges, pushups/ crunches, and don't stay away from weight training.  A martial artist wants to be fast and strong so dont go too heavy on the weights (unless you want to bulk up) but do do resistance training.   Remember some of the stances, kicks and even punches require lots of balance and strength.  Resistance training helps there.  Also who doesnt want a stronger punch and kick?  There is plenty of info on the net and in books.  Take this as just a simple point in the right direction.   You need to get out and find what works for you.  There is no perfect workout, there is no one source for everything.  Like martial arts, you need to learn it and then make it your own.

  2. Look it up on youtube, that's the best you'll get without a real teacher. I would strongly suggest you just sit back and learn patiently the things you are taught. If you rush you will be very likely to mess yourself up and learn many bad habits. You have your whole life ahead of you to learn this stuff.

  3. dont know much bout the 1-inch punch but krav maga is a very good workout and is very useful

  4. This won't be the most helpful advice in the world but, well the one inch punch.

I am no expert on this particular punch, but I would guess it comes down to muscle coordination and form than pure power, and learning by doing is what you need to get that.

show that heavy bag who's boss.
