What is a good mountain bike for a 13 year old who can cycle very well. The bike NEEDS to have at least front fork suspension but dual is preferred and dual disc brakes hydraulic would be preferred. Also it MUST be under $1000 australian dollars and be able to be bought from a dealer and not over the internet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

  1. See what the local bike shops have.  You can't get a Giant or Trek if there are no dealers around.  Don't get a dual-sup bike they eat up too much energy.  Dual hydraulic disk brakes are over kill.  That kind of stuff is for down hill racing.

  2. THere is a bike i bought 12 months ago a mountain bike beggining with "H" i forgot its name they are quality although it does need lubricant for heavy use like if you use it 3+ times a week!

Search on google for the name and edit detail thing ill say if thats the one or not

  3. dave mate, for a thousand dolla u aint goin to get any good quality full suspension bikes most duals suspension bikes average around 2 - 3 thousand, such as giant, norco, specilised and kona, but for around a thousand u can still get some got hardtail bikes such as the giant stp or the norco sasquash or the specalized big hit.
