What is a good Television?

Plasma, LCD, Or DLP. Wats the differerence? Which has better picture. Which last longer? Which ones the least expensive? What is the best brand

  1. DLP is the cheapest but it is slowly going away. DLP sets are much bigger, usually suck at off axis viewing, and have lamps that burn out every few thousand hours.

    Best brands are usually thought to be Sony for LCDs and Pioneer for plasmas.

    Plasmas dissipate more power, but usually have a better black level. LCDs usually have a screen which reflects less and thus may be better in rooms with higher ambient light. Either way, the picture is so much better than a analog CRT, there is no comparison.


  2. it depends on the size of the screen you want, LCD is the best over all for value and quality however for screens over 40 inches plasma will be better. as for brands good ones are Philips, Pioneer, Panasonic or LG

  3. LCD would be the best buy under 40 inches. I have a Sony Bravia hdtv

    32 inch. Very happy with picture quality and price.

    $699.00 at Circuit City and free shipping if bought on internet, Although it weighs only 30 lbs, would be easy to pick up at store
