What is a good Volleyball hitting percent?

As Can I Play? stated, 0.300 is a good percentage if you have some attempts.  If you only have 4 or 5 attempts in a match, you would need to be higher than that.  

For those that do not know, hitting percentage is (kills minus errors) divided by total attacks.  For example, a player has 15 kills with 3 errors and 40 total attacks.  (15-3) divided by 40 is 0.300.  If you only had 2 kills and no errors and 4 total attacks, you would have a hitting percentage of 0.500.  

It is very easy to get a negative percentage.  If you have more errors than kills, your percentage will be negative.

depends on your position actually. middles usually have the highest hitting precentage, thats just because of the way they hit and the sets they get.

It really depends on the level.

Generally, higher level players have higher kill ratio.

In NCAA, top men players have around 0.400 kill ratio and top women have around 0.300.
