What is a good age gap between your first and second child, that would help prevent sibling rivalry.?

My partner and I have a 27 month old boy and are thinking of trying for another one, but are concerned that there may be a chance of rivaly or competition between them in a few years to come. He always wants mum all the time too, that is why we want to have another child as a playmate.

I think 2 to 3 yrs age gap is fine. My bros and myself have an age gap of 2.5 yrs and we get along so very well.

Well jump ahead in the teenage years, buying cars, paying for the teens insurance, proms, school funtions, which these days costs a wad, and then college...you dont want to make it too close, because the money burden will be hard, but if you space it about 3 years apart, you will be able to afford it better.

I think 2yrs apart is fine.. the 2 year old is starting to understand right from wrong. I have a 2 yr 4month old and due next week. My daughter should be fine... she is use to family daycare children.

I have heard that the best sibling relationships is actually between two boys with a two year age gap. You wouldn't think it but it's true!

Well my age gap is 4, kinda sucks becasue my little brother is noting but trouble, so we kinda don't tlak at lll, and every time we do we get in a fight.

sibling rivalry is hard to prevent...but 2 years is what most people go for. That way it minimises the rivalry but the ages are close enough for the two siblings to be close. Don't make the gap to big...then the elder sibling might be too dominating...

i have 4 kids 16..14..8..6 2 yrs between the first 2 then i waited 6 yrs had another then 2 yrs n had another i joke n say 6 yrs between the 2 sets n that all get along just fine
