Question:

What is a good alternative to bows?

I absolutely hate bows and don't want them to be in my wedding or reception at all. I know though, bows are traditionally attached to the end of the aisles reserved for family. What would look good and be appropriate to replace them with?

If it helps, the color I'm using is light blue, matching my husband-to-be's Air Force dress blues.

  1. Just go with flowers. No need for the bows. You could also incorporate some victorian or antique jewelry into them such as brooches or pendants. Photos of the two of you in the middle of the floral bouquet would be nice.

  2. a little grouping of flowers

  3. If it's in a church use the church's "Reserved" tags.

Use ribbons across the end of the row (without bows)

    Make your own "Reserved" tags.

Have ushers take the responsibility for keeping the rows clear - if someone does seat themselves they can be informed that those spots were for family.

  4. Fancy paper cone with fresh flower! You can use a ribbon to hang them on the pews/chairs at the end. They look beautiful and are very easy to make.
