  1. I love the favors at Allure Wedding Favors. I met the owner through a friend at a BBQ in San Diego and really liked her. Her site is a must-see. Very stylish and appealing. Their items are beautiful and a variety to choose from. The site navigates very easily. So for all you who hate those sites that are easy to get lost in, this is an easy to browse boutique-style site.

Here is the link to their practical, but gorgeous favors: http://www.allureweddingfavors.com/handy...

  2. The cutest and cheapest items are at www.myweddingfavors.com. They have soaps, candles, bottled water, etc. All the items are at cheap prices and you can get things that will surprise your guests. Good Luck.

  3. This is a great site for wedding favors  http://www.aweddingfavorite.com

They have really unique ideas that are useful too, not just the same ol' same ol'.

  4. I like the idea of cookie cutters and attaching your favorite cookie recipe

  5. wine stoppers, bottle openers, shot glasses

  6. Here are some ideas from weddings I've been to recently:

Coasters (either with the bride and groom's names and wedding date or just something pretty like a glass coaster that has the word love on it)

A music CD that's the "soundtrack" to the wedding (you can burn this yourself on your computer, and either make labels or spring to have the CDs screen printed)

Matchbooks (hey, someday somebody's gonna need to light a candle)

I had one friend who got married recently who had a very elegant but inexpensive wedding, and their theme was sunflowers.  For the seating cards they actually had little envelops with sunflower seeds in them, with our table number on a homemade sticker on one side and on the other side it had their names, the date, and "Let love grow."  The seeds were the favor and could be planted in the yard.  Very cute and original idea.

  7. Ice cream scoops! Puts the "fun" back in "functional" ;)

  8. My husband and I take wedding photos as a hobby.  We have done this several times, and it is wonderfully received.  The favor is your wedding picture sitting at each place setting at your reception.

One hour before your wedding begins, have someone take 8-10 DIGITAL pictures of you and your groom.  Use a memory card that doesn't have anything else on it.

Take the memory card out of the camera, and hand it to a friend to take to the 1-hour photo.  This friend can't be someone who wants to be at the wedding.  it needs to be an acquaintance, or someone you know who is good at photos.

Friend takes memory card to 1-hour photo, selects picture, and waits at store while 200 (or whatever) are printed.

Friend drives to reception, and caterer puts a photo of you and your hubby at each of the place settings.

Aunt Agnes is thrilled to be able to take home a photo of you and your groom to show to everyone in her card club.  As an added benefit, you don't get bothered by relatives for a wedding photo, because clever you took care of that before they even left the reception.

If you choose to do this, go to the 1 hour photo store a few days before the wedding and tell them of your plan, so they can be prepared and know you are coming.

  9. nice & useful don't always go together.

most guest like food:  satchel of candy/ cookies/ mini jar of jam

practical: a notepad with your names/ date; a rock paper weight with inspiring words ( love, beauty, forever.....) to place on napkin; a wire holder that is used for pictures could hold the guest name card; a fridge magnet that reflects your theme

  10. we were at a wedding recently and got a really nice - cheese knife set - one per couple - they were beautiful, they had really decorative handles.  I have also recieved wine bottle stoppers that were wonderful too...
