What is a good animal to raise to release to the wild for an environmental club?

we're a high school club brainstorming ideas to breed an animal (like a fish or something) that we can release to help the environment. what are some good animals (must be legal to release)

  1. Contact your state's Fish and Wildlife people for ideas. While they may have made some huge mistakes (giant Canada geese come to mind), they are more likely to know what will help, rather than hurt, the environment.


  2. You may do both the animal and the environment more good to volunteer at a rescue shelter that releases rehabbed animals. They know what they're doing, can teach you tons, and probably would welcome the help.

  6. volunteer at a fish and game club hatchery to raise fingerlings to release in lakes and streams.grow or rehabilitate plants in an area for endangered butterflies(look up local state/province endangered species) tree plant a barren area  

  7. Most animals raised in captivity can't be released into the wild

    They won't have the skills to survive
