  1. Cocker spaniel or yorkshire terrier.

  2. A chihuahua.  If you are unable to take them outside they can be paper trained very easily and their waste products are minimal.

  3. When I was still living with my parents we lived on the 58th floor of a skyscraper in chicago.  It was really tight.  We had a dog, a cocker spaniel actually, and we had a lady who walked the dog in the morning.  I usually took her out in the evening.  She did fine, she got to run around the condo which was pretty big.  She never crapped or pee'd in the house even once.

  4. cocker spaniel

  5. A toy dog.  You can teach it to go in a litter box when you aren't around.  I think there is special dog litter you can put in the litter box.  Or just put some newspaper in there to absorb the pee.  Otherwise, to force a dog to hold it all day is rather cruel.  I feel bad for the dogs who have to hold it 9 hours or are put out on a leash for 9 hours while they wait for their owner to come home.

By the way, cocker spaniels don't necessarily hold their urine all the time.  They can have strange bathroom habits too.  My parent's cocker spaniel has pooped in one corner of the house multiple times before they realized they had to make sure when she went out, she actually pooped.  When you come home and they get too excited, they pee all over the floor.

What another poster said is right though.  Check your lease and make sure you can have dogs.  I'm assuming they probably want you to have a dog under 30 pounds or something like that IF they let you have dogs.  I'm not allowed to have dogs in my apartment, and I can't risk getting kicked out for one.

  6. If you live in a skyscraper I doubt you can even have a dog.

  7. One that can flush the toilet.

The key to having a dog in a large apartment building is to be consistent with it's schedule.

They typically need to be walked in the morning, the evening, and 45 minutes after eating.

  8. Get a cat...how would you like to have to hold it all day?

  9. A stuffed one.

  10. stuff animal
