Question:

What is a good approach vertical for a senior boy's (grade 11-12) volleyball hitter?

as in the power position (OH). i am 5 foot 10 and my approach vert is about 10'2" would that be considered good or just average and is it worth increasing or should i just stick to setting

  1. So you have a vertical of a little over 30 inches? That's pretty good. But to answer your question, 40 inches is considered an excellent vertical for an elite mens volleyball player.


  2. You probably to small to play left side at a really high level.  If you want to stay there your going to have to increase you verticle to be able to touch closer to 11'.

    At 5'10" you can probably touch about 7'8" so you verticle is 30" which is alright but to play at the next level that is on the low end.  At 5'10" your going have to get higher i'd start a jumping program and get that verticle up if your serious about playing at the college level.  Even if your setting, the good hitters are going to hit over you if you don't.
