Hi can anyone tell me about whats a good attention getting device for my speech? My topic is about "The Filipino Culture" . And, I will be talking about the Filipino cuisine, Common Family traits in the Philippines and the Courtship in Philippine culture. I am just confuse about the attention getting device but, other than that, i am perfectly fine! Hope you can help me ASAP! thanks and God bless You all....

Find the oldest person in the room older than you and bless.  As far as I know Philippines is the only culture to do that.  As you explain what you just did, lead into family values, traits and customs.  That would get MY attention.  If you don't know how to do it maybe your parents can remember and show you.

Eat balut on stage, slurp the soup and make sure they see it on close up and hear you slurping. You can also do this with dinuguan and isaw. Feel free to invite people, especially non-filipinos to join you.

Talk about concepts in courtship such as "lambingan" and "carino brutal" and have people act it out as you discuss.
