Totally depends on what you're auditioning for.  The idea is to choose a song which is in the same style as the show you're auditioning for; if you can manage it, a song by the same composer but from a different show is ideal.  Stay away from any songs from Wicked, Hairspray, RENT, Spring Awakening, Phantom, Avenue Q and Legally Blonde as they're extremely overdone and you'll be one of the crowd.
