  1. Some of the best crawfish baits are found in the pet aisle of many supermarkets. Look for sea food flavored cat foods in the can. You can also use sardines in a can, tuna and so on.

  2. bacon or ham is what i use!

  3. A lot of people simply use a chicken leg and tie it to the inside of the trap. You may also try just about any type of fish.

  4. worms chicken livers whatever

  5. Nothing works better then the food source that they feed on naturally- dead fish- use fish heads, cut up fish, etc.. When you go fishing, save some of the smaller fish and cut them up in pieces, then freeze them to use for crawfish bait later on . It will work great.

  6. find a dead fish near where you are going to try to trap them - if you can't find one catch one and kill it... bluegill seem to be best from my experience....but try cutting it up a bit to get the scent out and so they can pick at it

  7. Try the small cans of catfood. Take the plastic lid off and poke a bunch of holes in the top of the can and place this in your trap. When you are done, replace the plastic lid and you can store the can in the freezer for later use!

  8. catch a sunfish or something then cut it into chunks

  9. I just tried Salt cod a while ago.  It worked great.

  10. I used to trap crawfish for bass fishing in Tx, and tried several of the choices mentioned, but I had the BEST success with fish scrap, like what was left over after I fileted one. In the wild, That's their natural food, feeding on dead fish.  If you have to, you can always go to an independant seafood store(not grocery store) and they should have fish scrap to give you or sell for a reasonable price. Hope you at least give this a try.
