I haven't played music in over 30 years. What banjo should I get?

  1. You first need to decide what kind of music you want to play.  There are three main banjo styles: 4-string tenor, 5-string open back, and 5-string resonator.  Resonator banjos are used for bluegrass music, open back for old time music, and tenors for other styles.

    Saga and Deering make good entry-level banjos.


  2. A Fender FB-55 is a fine banjo in my opinion. It wont break the bank but its good for beginners or experienced. I own one.
