What is a good bar in Chicago for a birthday party?

I am looking for a bar in Chicago to have my birthday party at. It would be nice to find a location with a decently priced open bar special. I HATE dance clubs. I love dive bars, but want to find a bar that's not too dive-y, that all my friends are comfortable at. Something fun, trendy, and not too expensive. Any suggestions?

Go to wrigleyville they will have exactly what you want there, I promise you!!! It would be even cool to have your party in the bar durning a cubs game cause when everyone leaves the bars to go inside the game you and youre friends will have the whole bar to yourselves.

If you're looking for something a little different, another option is the Signature Room in the John Hancock building downtown. Beautiful view, and it's free to go up! Of course, it is very expensive but beautiful. Maybe a good place to go for one drink before moving on to another?

Nick's in wicker park sounds like it might be a good balance for you. there is a main big area connected to another big open room, pry for parties lolz

the drinks are strong and not expensive and there's pool and a jukebox. it isn't too busy, except for the weekends. but even then not too bad..
