What is a good beginner swimming workout that i could do?

i usually run cross country but i got a knee injury so im swimming to keep my endurance up while my knee heals. is there a good workout that could take up an hour that i could do?

  1. You can just swim for an hour straight, that would work. But if you want something more challenging, Google "beginner swim workouts". You will gets TONS of stuff to choose from!

  2. since your knee is still healing, i wouldn't recommend doing a lot of kicking. maybe when your knee gets better, try vertical kicking. it's like treading water minus your hands. start with your arms across your chest, then hands at shoulder height, then arms straight. this can be very tiring, so do intervals of maybe 1 minute. if your knees arent up to kicking, try some pulling drills using a pull buoy between your knees and swimming only with your arms. you can also try different drills for each stroke. if you want to spend a lot of time, try writing sets for yourself. good luck and hope your knee heals!
