  1. It depends. if all you need is a small light so cars can see you, you can get a small light for about $20 from your local bike shop or an online place like nashbar or performancebike.

    Or you could just duct tape three or four mini mag lite flashlights to your handlebar, though you can't chamge the position easily once mounted.

    If you ride on dark streets and need plenty of light, consider getting a quality light from Niterider, Marwi, Light and Motion or Blackburn. Figure on spending about $80 to $250, depending on how long you need the battery to last and if you want one or two lights.

    If you want lighter lights with more burn time (longer battery life) you could spend $300 to $800 on a complete system.

    Keep it in the big ring.
